15th Landscape Forum arrives in Guimarães

The future of the landscape is under discussion in Guimarães over the next few days. The city is hosting the 15th Landscape Forum, an international gathering dedicated to landscape architecture, spatial planning and sustainability, taking place from Thursday to Saturday in the cradle city.

Included in the official programme of Guimarães 26 – European Green Capital, the event brings together students, researchers and practitioners in Guimarães to exchange perspectives, share knowledge and present projects focused on what comes next for the landscape.

A programme centred on democratic landscape transformation

The agenda combines time for reflection, collaborative work, field visits and debate on the democratic transformation of the landscape. It features conferences, themed working groups, routes across the territory, public sessions showcasing the outcomes developed during the meeting, and two events open to the general public.

Public highlights: Mizu and the IDEGUI exhibition

Among the programme’s headline moments is the show Mizu, due to be staged this afternoon at 16.30 in Guimarães City Park.

The performance is designed as a sensory experience, bringing dance and puppetry together in a poetic exploration of transformation. It is also part of Spring Forward, the contemporary dance festival that is likewise taking place in Guimarães from today until Saturday.

Another highlight of the 15th Landscape Forum programme is an art exhibition on display at IDEGUI – the Guimarães Institute of Design for the duration of the forum, with its public presentation scheduled for Thursday at 18.30.
